Building Something Beautiful... A Tribute to Shane Weigensberg
On May 18, 2018, the entire Montreal community was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Shane Weigensberg. Having known Shane and his family quite well, our team at Whiteoak Construction were extremely humbled and honored to take part in a wonderful construction project at Ed Plus High School which would serve as a meaningful tribute to Shane.

James and Kim Watts, the administrators at Ed Plus High School suggested the project to the Weigensberg family and we were thrilled to be able to help bring the project to life. In collaboration with the design students at Vanier college, our team was able to help create "Shane's Space", which is designed to be a calming and relaxing decompression area for its students, like Shane and others, who often need to switch focus and re-configure for a bit. Much like the unique and non conventional teaching methods encouraged at Ed Plus High School, "Shane's Space" is intended to help students actively engage in their own learning and discover their individual potentials.

At Whiteoak, we are always striving to leave lasting impressions on our clients, but being able to give back to the community through such a project like "Shane's Space" is equally as rewarding. We hope that "Shane’s Space" serves as a powerful legacy for Shane and that it also continues to inspire the many students at Ed Plus High School for many years to come!
We would like to wish a special thank you once again to the Weigensberg family, the administrators at Ed Plus High School, our cabinet makers at Element Bois, as well as our carpet suppliers at Carpette Multi Design for helping to make this project a reality.
